Jake Best

Jacob “Jake” Best is an Attorney at Sunshine State Law Firm, P.A. in the Winter Park office, where he represents individuals in a wide range of negligence matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, and premises liability. Known for his unwavering work ethic and client-centered advocacy, he is deeply committed to securing accountability and just results against large corporations and insurers.

A native of Orlando, Florida, Jake earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. He thereafter attended Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in the top 3% of his class. In addition to earning a certificate of high honors in Advocacy and Litigation and receiving five book awards for exemplary academic performance, he served as a Research Assistant for Interim Dean Samuel Kan and as a Dean's Study Fellow for three consecutive semesters, helping law students master Constitutional Law, Contract Law, and Property Law.

Jake built a strong foundation in trial advocacy early on, prosecuting cases as a Certified Legal Intern with the Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit and clerking for the Honorable Judge Eric DuBois of the Ninth Judicial Circuit during his second and third years in law school. Combining his background prosecuting criminal cases with his experience in personal injury law, Jake brings a unique perspective and formidable expertise to every case, considering it a privilege to fight tirelessly for clients during the most difficult moments of their lives.

Outside of the office, Jake is also a talented multi-instrumentalist who writes original music and performs regularly throughout the Central Florida area. In addition to his musical pursuits, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, traveling, attending live concerts, golfing, and Orlando Magic games.
